Honoring Community Champions in St. Louis
Community Champions 2025 recipients: Hemla Singaravelu, Don Ko, Kristina Le, Sara Yang Bosco, Duane Reed, and DJ Ted Isla
Thanks to the St. Louis Cardinals, VAF was able to honor six community champions on the field before the game against the Chicago Cubs on August 10. They were honored for championing art, literature, mental health, community service, and corporate responsibility.
Board secretary Alex Lee also threw out the first pitch!
VAF founding board member Alex Lee threw out the first pitch at Busch Stadium.
And thanks to a Nike Community Impact grant, VAF was able to buy tickets for kids and their families as well as give them the children’s book, Baseball Saved Us written by Seattle journalist Ken Mochizuki.
VAF will host more families with books on September 3, 2025, when the Cardinals take on Oakland. Sign up if you’d like free tickets, click here. It is first come, first served.
